Built on Site 1885. with  our accommodation being  carefully and beautifully renovated in 2003. 

Our Hotel is the apethamy of a hotel of yesteryear and has survived due to the strong farming comunity, the loyal locals, and the local shearing gangs who have long called it a home away from home. 

Therefore it only seemed fitting that we bult a bar purely dedicated to these people, a living museum for our community. THE WOOLSHED

Our hotel carries a quiet sense of history and charm. Long gone are the days of worn wooden furniture, faded wallpaper and carpets softened by decades of footsteps. Cleaner and brighter now, yet still carrying the same nostalgic charm — as if the past never fully left.

Our rooms are dedicated to the large farming community of the Rangitikei — each suite named after one of the great local stations.

Just outside our old hotel, a row of simpler, budget-friendly rooms caters to passing cyclists and backpackers — named after world-famous train journeys. Shared ablution facilities are only 3 metres from the rooms. Modest, comfortable, made beds and space to store your bikes — everything needed for a night’s rest.

Our eatery blends rustic old hotel charm with hearty flavours. Our bar offers all travellers and locals fresh cooked food at all times that the old girl opens her doors.

Located within the old Hotel, it offers a relaxed, welcoming space where guests can enjoy casual dining and the warm, nostalgic atmosphere of the building’s history. Light snacks are served all open hours, with sumptuous dinners and breakfast at your convenience.
